Discover Network Devices & Servers without "Agent"!!!

    Hello,

Kindly let me know to start "Discovery" process to search my network devices.

Is there any way to get Remote Server information about

    CPU Usage
    Physical Memory Usage
    Swap Usage
    Network In/Out Usage
Hard Disk Used & Free Space

without installing any type of "Agent" or "Client" on the remote server. Is it possible? Can i have get all information in a simple GUI format, which will be easy to understand & view for non-technical users.

Kindly provide some documentation of zabbix for the same. I have a book of zabbix in a pdf format ,which i have downloaded from zabbix.com. But, while some snap shots are really very small & by making it ZOOM, all snap got scattered. Even i can't see the image properly in a normal format!!!!!!!!!

That's why i am asking you perfect documentation.

    Kindly Help.

    Jayshrikrishna.

If I right understand what you're looking for, you can use snmp to monitore the values you want (but the devices you want to monitore should support it naturally).
But if you don't have and snmp service and you don't have an agent, according to me, it's impossible to get such a informations...

I use SNMP to monitor everything here, I didn't want to have to install agents. You can monitor those things but you can't auto-discover anything as far as I can tell, you have to set it all up manually. The best way is to make a template so you don't have to set up each individual device.

      Good luck!

You can use the "auto discovering" feature of zabbix with snmp v1 or v2, but it won't auto configure the monitoring of the servers then, it will only makes a list of the IP available on the range you configured.

        Zabbix Agent for AIX 5.3

        Hello,

I am searching for "compiled" zabbix agent,so that i can copy that compiled agent directly onto AIX 5.3 OS & that agent will automatically fetch data from the AIX PC itself.

I don't want to configure OR compile zabbix agent for client side. As i am using AIX 5.3 with K-Shell,which is very horrible to operate. It is very difficult to compile zabbix agent in K-Shell environment.

So, kindly let me know if any compiled zabbix agent is available for AIX.

Also please let me know the "agent" for Fedora 7,i386 edition.

        Waiting,
        Nishith Vyas

Have you had a look at the donwload page ?
          http://www.zabbix.com/download.php

There are some agent precompiled for AIX.

If you want to use ./configure download the sources, and not the precompiled versions of the soft.

To make the precompiled agents run, you have to make a config file (where you want), then, run the agent daemon, logged in as zabbix user, with your config file :
              /path/to/agent/zabbix_agentd -c /path/to/config/file/zabbix_agentd.conf

The agent will now run and send infos to the server defined in the config file.
