I have this strange issue with a simplecheck/icmpping. The item always reports (1) that the ping fails.
Strangely, I can ping it from my windows machine fine and I can ping & fping it successfully from the Debian machine where Zabbix is running as well.
The host is identical to 3 other hosts in my system, and they ping successfully.
As I wrote that last line I realised that this is only client with an ancient D-Link modem/router. But that doesnt explain why it works from the CLI and not Zabbix.
Second strange ping issue is that if I have the host set to "Connect to" - "IP Address" in the host settings screen, I get intermittent & failed pings on 50% of my hosts, changing the setting to "DNS Name", I get consistent results.
I'm using 1.6.5.
Any assitance on how I can troubleshoot the issue?
