in the zabbix (1.6) manual it is stated that proxies "increase performance of central ZABBIX server". I just don't understand why this is the case.
The greatest part of the main server performance is needed for the database. As far as I understand proxies, they collect the data of their agents and send it the the server. where the data has to be processed anyway. how can this improve any performance?
