False alarms ( Send list of active checks to [IP] failed )

    Hello,

I have installed Zabbix but unfortunately i get a lot of false alarms ( every minute ). I checked zabbix_server.log and got a lot of lines like these ones:

    Code:
Send list of active checks to [200.200.200.200] failed: host [name_of_the_host.com] not found
Send list of active checks to [200.200.200.200] failed: host [name_of_the_host.com] not found
Send list of active checks to [200.200.200.200] failed: host [name_of_the_host.com] not found
Send list of active checks to [200.200.200.200] failed: host [name_of_the_host.com] not found
Searching the forums, i found a topic that said that i should check if Hostname at /etc/zabbix/zabbix_agentd.conf is the same as the ones on Zabbix ( i assume that they are talking about the ones on Configuration -> Hosts -> DNS column, correct? ).

I have verified this and it seems to be the same. Any ideas of what should i check/change to fix this problem?

Unfortunately, at this moment, zabbix does not work for me because i get a lot of false alarms.

Thanks for anyone who tries to help!

    Nope.

The Hostname given in zabbix_agentd.conf must exactly match (case sensitive until at least 1.6.2, I haven't checked 1.6.5) the "main" host name given in the UI (first field of new host form).

DNS name is only used if you tell zabbix to poll ... DNS name instead of IP.

      Thank you for your answer.

It seems that this stopped the error message but i am still getting false alarms. Do you have any suggestions of what should i check?

Basically i have the following expression:

      Code:
      {my_host_name.com:icmpping.max(300)}<1
If i ping this hostname at my server, it works fine. But for some reason, i always get an email about a problem on it ( even if it is working fine ).

What update interval did you set ?
Can you copy/past some data of an item that flaps ?

          Hi,

          The update interval is 60sec.

I have attached a screenshot of the item info.

          Thanks.

If you go to Monitoring > Latest Data, choose the 'icmpping' item and then chose "Latest 500 values", do you have one value every 60sec ?
