Zabbix 1.6x installed > website just says "ok"

    Hello,
I've installed Zabbix on debian 5.0 x86 via the sid repositories.. Everything appears to be alright, i've got an agent on my ubuntu workstation to test. however when i load the webgui up, on port 10051, all it says is "ok"

    Did I mess somthing up?

    Thanks
    Chris

well, zabbix frontend is not available on port 10051
if you have set it up from repos, it most likely is set up on port 80, although you would hve to verify exact url for your installation. check the location zabbix frontend is installed to, then try to navigate to it.

You have to do your own installation of Apache + PHP. Zabbix assumes you have Apache, PHP, and MySQL available, and you already know how to configure all three, including the bits to make them work together.

Because Zabbix requires certain flags passed into the PHP configuration process, don't count on being able to use a repository build.

Once this is done, you can create a symbolic link between the htdocs directory and the zabbix-1.6.6/frontends/php directory, or you can just copy it over (the php directory and everything beneath it).

PM me if you need more detailed instructions.

Also, don't try to install PHP 5.3.0, they changed a bunch of stuff and Zabbix throws all sorts of warnings. The combination of PHP 5.2.11 and Apache 2.2.13 works fine.
