which server should install zabbix proxy?

Hi, I have checked zabbix manual, but still cannot understand which server should install zabbix proxy?

My understanding is that one server installs zabbix server for centralized monitor, other servers install zabbix agent to collect server information.
But which server should install zabbix proxy?

Hi Wanren,

Zabbix proxy needs to be installed in a distributed environment, ideally, one proxy in each network segment.

I think you does not need to use a proxy in a scenario with no more than 200 devices, specially if they are in the same subnet.

Other specifical need is when some segment is behind a firewall. So, the proxy can collect all the data behind the firewall, and then send to the server.
