    Poor snmp perfomance

    Hi everyones.
I am monitoring 20 HP switches by zabbix using snmp. I have 10 common items per switch(cpu, memory, mac etc...) updated every minute, and 32 items for 24 ports or 56 items for 48 ports updated every 30 sec. Totally it's about 1200 snmp cheks per minute ~ 20 snmp cheks per second. I think it's not a big value. I've noticed that items updated not in 30/60 seconds but in 5~7 minutes.
    That i am doing wrong?

I think updating your Ports every 30 seconds is a bit of an overkill, but the graphs look nice don't they. Every 2 -3 minutes would be more economical.

    However, that's up to you.

Take a look in Administration -> Queue, there are probably lots of items waiting in the queue, which is slowing things down.
You can try increasing the number of Pollers and/or Trappers in your zabbix_server.conf. That should get things back to normal again. (Don't forget to restart zabbix).

    MrKen
Disclaimer: All of the above is pure speculation.

        Solved

I tuned zabbix-server.conf to start more pollers/trappers, now data collects in periodic base, QUEUES shorter now but web interface become usefulness because of hi system load. The problem was solved after tuning mysql according to that great post http://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12407.
        Thanks MrKen for help.
