mass add hosts

Hi ALL,

Tell me please how can I add a host from the console linux. Are there any special scripts for this? I want to use it for mass addition (approximately 5000 hosts).

study the database struct of Zabbix and then using the sql script to do it, or try the new command line tool which is not so mature:

I would write a small shell script which would generate XML file for file import. Note that import of 5K of hosts may take lots of time provided you link these hosts to templates. It depends on your hardware though.

I would suggest splitting these hosts into chunks of 200-250 hosts. It would require more work yet will be more error prune.
