Default event message

Hi,

I'd like to modify the default event message globally, but I couldn't find anything in the manual.

How do I go about doing this?

You can edit this in Conf -> Actions. Create Action, you'll see the Default message detail.

In the manual, try section 4.2 Actions, and 4.2.3 Macros for messages.

I've changed the default action in one of my own events, and it didn't propagate to any of the other events. Do I need to save an event with no triggers?

I'll look at those sections of the manual again!

You mean, you changed the default message in one of your actions, and it didn't propagate to any of the other actions. Yes?

If you want just one default message for every action, then you will need to "cut and paste" your new default message to every action that you have defined.

Sometimes you may not want the same default message for all actions. For example, a message that may be understood by the IT dept. may not be understood by the admin who changes the printer toner. In this case you can personalize messages to cater to the recipient of various messages.

Thanks for the response. I will eventually want different messages for certain actions, but I'd also like a more detailed default message for EVERY action in the system.
