Why the communication between proxy and server is not compressed?

I don’t have measures on how much would be the size of data being sent by proxy.

Just curious on why the communication is not compressed?

If suppose, I wanted to compress the communication what would be the right approach?

    Thanks for any pointers.

    Regards
    Vijay

theoretically you could have compressed tunnel, but that looks like a reasonable feature request.
optional, low cpu cost compression could help on slow links - could you report this on the feature request tracker ?
