metrics not defined in template being monitored

I've added a host using the 'Template_Solaris' template which should only monitor the zabbix_agentd' if I'm not mistaken. Yet once this host is added a ton of services/processes are being monitored, basically what the 'Template_Linux' is setup to watch.

Why is this happening?

The template doesn't monitor the zabbix agentd. The template monitors metrics using the zabbix_agentd.

Open configuration -> Items, Template_Solaris. You will see all the metrics that this template is monitoring. 102 of them.
Now, if you open a new tab and look at the items associated with Template_Linux, 102 of them, you can see that they are basically the same!

This is not a problem. You can add or delete the items in a template to suit your own needs.
