    IPMI polling

This one has me stumped. I am trying to do IPMI polling straight from Zabbix without using the IMPI scripts.

I have a Dell host with a DRAC installed. I set it up with a IP address, user name and password. I can see the DRAC using that IP and a web browser. No problem.

I built the Zabbix server from source with IPMI enabled. in Zabbix, I configured a host with IMPI support. It is set for monitored, IPMI is checked, Authentication is set to default, privilege is set to User and I have entered a user name and password. Even after waiting 30 minutes, the web interface shows that the Zabbix and SNMP agents are available, but not IMPI. I looked in the log file and found that it was starting 10 IMPI polling processes periodically, but did not see where it was trying to poll my IPMI host. I ran tcpdump on the host and am seeing no packets to the IPMI address.

Here are my installed IPMI packages:
    OpenIPMI-tools-2.0.16-5.el5
    OpenIPMI-devel-2.0.16-5.el5_4.1
    OpenIPMI-libs-2.0.16-5.el5_4.1

    Any suggestions?

just to be sure, verify StartIPMIPollers value in server config file.
which version of zabbix ? i guess 1.8, but guessing can be dangerous

      IMPI polling

It is version 1.8. I have StartIPMIPollers set to 10, and I see them starting when I turn the debug log up to 4. I do not however see them in a ps list.

        they are not separate processes.
maybe try setting them to 1 for testing, that should be enough, unless you have large amount of monitored ipmi devices

I set it to 1 and still no packets going to the IPMI IP address.
