    Creating 24 hour graph

    Hi all,

I have Zabbix running (very well I must say) and graphing incoming and outgoing traffic on a remote SNMP device, which updates every 5 seconds. The graphs I have created go back one hour which is fine, however I'd also like to have a graph for both incoming and outgoing traffic which goes back 24 hours, but I can't find the option for this?

    Am I missing something obvious?

    Many thanks,

    Ben

use scrollbar at the bottom of the graph to change the displayed period (although you can't easily have several graphs showing different periods at the same time).

btw, 5 seconds is a very low value, i'd suggest increasing that

That's what I was after, we have a TV mounted on the wall where we have various monitoring applications, Zabbix being one of them. I wouldn't have a problem with perhaps opening two browser windows, but when in monitoring > graphs the page doesn't seem to auto-refresh, and in monitoring > screens the scrollbar that you make larger does not appear so it can't be done in there.

I've been meaning to change it, the web browser keeps losing connection to the zabbix box but works fine on refresh, I assume because the HDD is too busy to send out the php files to the browser.

it should refresh, unless you have disabled that in your user profile.

and there should be a time period selector under the screen.

what browser are you using ?

It's using IE7 in Vista Business. The monitoring > screens page does refresh as normal but I don't seem to get the scroll bar to lengthen the history period, and the graphs page doesn't refresh at all.

I don't know if this helps you or not as this workaround has already been posted. Since you'll be using a TV you'll have plently of area to do this.
Create a URL screen with the following option

Replace the IP with your servers IP.

You can get the graph ID and sid by looking at the source or even the address bar of the graph you want to add and dont forget to add the fullscreen option. You'll basically have to play with the width and heights of the graph you'll want to create through this screen. After playing around a bit this is what I was able to get. The image got cut a bit when I printscreened the thing. I'm using ver 1.6.6.

If you're monitoring a large number of items with a 5 second refresh interval, then that's going to cause some serious load.

Are you looking at graphs of Latest Data? If so, you won't ever see a graph with more than one item on at a time. If you want a graph with more than one item you'll need to go to Configuration > Graphs, pick your host, create a graph and add the requisite items to it. If you don't want to do it all manually [48 port switch, anybody?] then have a look for a template for the device you're monitoring, or use a template generating script.
