    SNMP Monitoring of Dell Switch

I am getting a "Timeout while connecting to [172.30.100.1:161]"

I can snmpwalk from the server and get returns back fine.....what is wrong with the configuration within zabbix???? (version 1.8)

I set up a host....with IP address.....Monitored.....attached it to the default snmp v1 template and when I check the status of the device it keeps telling me the timeout error. We have a different community string than just public....but I even went as far as to just go into one of the default items....set it up with the right community string and it still shows timeout.....what gives??

    Update

I will add that the Dell Switch I'm trying to connect to is a Dell Powerconnect 6224. I've been able to connect to the Dell PowerConnect 6248 which I have noticed zabbix 1.8 comes with a template for it. Not sure why there is an issue. Both switches are set up with the same snmp community string. Not sure what's up with zabbix? Please any insight would be helpful.

(Note...the template for the 6248 shows 832 items but i'm getting this error when I try to pull up the items list:
    Webpage error details

User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.1; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; InfoPath.2)

So it seems like I'd have to recreate a template for that device as well.
