Simple Trigger Edits

I'm playing around with the web gui for 1.8 and I'm having an issue changing simple trigger values. For example, if I want to change the default cpu load trigger from N>5 to N>15. I go to Configuration-->Hosts-->Triggers and find the line for "Processor Load is Too High" and click. Next to the Expression line there is a SELECT button. I click that and it pops open a small window. In that new window I change the value of N from "5" to "15" and click INSERT. This adds the new expression to the end of the old expression. But what the hell....I click SAVE. That returns me to the screen showing all triggers and I note that the trigger I just changed hasn't changed at all.

I'm clearly not doing something correctly. Could someone nudge me in the proper direction? Do I need to create an entirely new trigger rather than attempt to edit an existing one?

Following what you have written above, down to "Next to the Expression line there is a SELECT button."

Don't hit the SELECT button! If you just want to change >5 to >15, all you need to do is place your cursor in that Expression box between the > and the 5 and type 1. Save.

While I can click inside the expression field, it does not allow me to edit anything (including the value of N). If I toggle the input method and enter a new trigger value and then click "replace", it appears to work....BUT when I go back to the host's triggers I see that the original value is back.

Have I stumbled on a bug or am I just doing this incorrectly? I simply want to change the default trigger of "Processor load is too high" from N>5 to N>15.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Sounds like you're trying to update a trigger on a host that is linked to a template. It won't let you edit anything like that.

If you want to change it for all hosts linked to that template, then on the triggers conf page where it says 'Name', click on the grayed out bit which says Template_Blah. Then you can change it on the template.

If you want to change it just for one host, find the line for "Processor Load is Too High" and click. When the box opens, click on 'clone', then you can edit the expression field. You will then have two triggers for "Processor Load is Too High", one from the template and one unique to that host. You can just disable the template one if you don't need it.
