Hello,
This option interests me especially if it's possible to trigger an action when a host comes into the maintenance period. Is it possible?
Thanks!

as far as i know, that is not possible. what would be the use case for such a functionality ?
I have a question about expiration of maintenance.
I use it to prevent collect during daily or weekly server reboots. (Am I in the right way ?)
How can I create a priodic maintenance that never expires ?
I've try to set 31/12/2900 as end date but it always change it to the last day of the current year (31/12/2010) ...
I would not like to have to change all the maintenance entries end dates every year.
max year is 2038 (that might look familiar to those who know about unixtime )
what frontend does with bigger values is incorrect, though - sometimes it resets to current year, sometimes to some year in past (overflow ?), sometimes clears all fields. please, report this problem in the tracker.
as for ability to enter bigger dates, probably not for now
After u set a maintenance the triggers are showing with [Host Maintenance] but i have get notification so in (Configuration -> Actions) i add new "Action conditions"
- Maintenance status not in "maintenance"
Trigger still showing but i don't get a SMS/Email notifications
I have these two actions setup. I have a host that is down. I created a maintenance window for it. I put it in the maintenance window. It shows as in maintenance when I enable it for monitoring, however I always get the alert message from the "not in maintenance" action. These both have recovery message sections, which work as expected, except for this little problem.
BASE ALERT
Maintenance status not in "maintenance"
Trigger value = "PROBLEM"
Trigger severity >= "Warning"
Send message to User "unixgroup"
Enabled
BASE ALERT MAINTENANCE
Maintenance status in "maintenance"
Trigger value = "PROBLEM"
Trigger severity >= "Warning"
Send message to User "unixgroup"
Send message to User "IOC"
Enabled
keep in mind that adding a host with existing problem to a maintenance does not stop already running escalations. maybe that is the cause in your case ?
What am I missing

Hello,
I'm experiencing exactly the same troubles. Anybody can help ?
I wouldn't mind reviving this one a little to talk about maintenance a little more in-depth. I'd be interested in a couple of use-cases for it, because the manual is a little light-on for information.
Does the maintenance period affect services in IT Services? eg; will it not count as problem time for a service if that trigger goes into problem but the host is in maintenance?
Does the maintenance period stop notifications from being sent? From what I've read here it doesn't by default.
Is there anything else the maintenance period can do for me?

haven't tested this, but i don't think it affects it services, other than "no data" maintenance possibly not having any triggers fire

no, it can suppress sending of new ones if you add action condition
