distributed ping or TCP connect from client via agent

    Hi,

I'm working in a retail environment and have a great number of remote sites. Each site has a number of ip based devices and a few windows hosts, they are all connected and being monitored by the central head office datacenter but have a dedicated internet breakout to an online payment sollution through the data network providor.

There is no way for me to put an zabbix proxy in each location but i was wondering if there was a way to setup a zabbix agent/client to do a simple tcp connect or ping to a remote ip to check if the client can still reach the outside world and have the agent report back ot the central zabbix that outgoing connectivity to the payment provider is still available or not.

Any tips or sugguestions are more than welcome as i'm very new to zabbix +/- 2 weeks but love what it's been doing for me.

    Hi,

Zabbix agent can check connectivity to a remote TCP port with
    net.tcp.port[<ip>, port]
    parameter.
