    Send SNMP Trap action

    Hi,

I am new in Zabbix and I would appreciate the community help.

I would like to SEND SNMP trap as a result to some trigger on Zabbix Server/Agent to some External monitoring server, not zabbix.

How should I configure the Action in this case ? I understand that its possible I just can not find anything useful in the documentation :-(

    Thanks in advance.

define a custom alert script and send the trap snmptrap command from net-snmp.
now, actual snmptrap syntax is another matter and a bit tricky...

Will you be so kind and supply some 'hello world' example of such alert ?

I would appreciate it very much.

      Thanks in advance.

I am looking through the manual how to define alerts and can not find any reference except the API section. Can it be done through the Web interface? I can see only "Actions/Operations" there.

Do I miss something ? Can you direct me to some relevant documentation on the matter ?

          Thanks in advance.

you define a custom script media (http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/.../config/medias) in administration -> media types, add media to a user, then create action to use this media

I got to the point where I can send the above snmptrap command when an alert is sent in Zabbix.

However, how can I get the actual error message from the alert into this snmptrap line? Is this something that will require the use of MIBs? Can someone point me in the right direction (documentation on setting this up) or post some examples?
