some values not reported in 1.8?

I've uprgraded to 1.8 from 1.6 and on the zabbix server the agent doesn't seem to report the agentd version, hostname or host information. It works if I move back to the 1.6.8 agent.

Is this a bug or is there a change that I've missed in the upgrade?
