Item not supported in Zabbix 1.8

I created a simple custom Template, and i have added 2 simple checks, icmpping and http. and one trigger for each item.

Both of them are shown as NOT SUPPORTED when i click on the host details. (See attachment)

And trigger status is UNKNOWN. Both of them where working in 1.6

How can i make it work ?

    Thanks

Are you sure of that ?
Your items are not syntaxically correct:
values between <> are optional and you should replace them with actual values (or leave empty if default values are OK).

    You may use:
    • icmpping[] (with default parameters)
    • icmpping[,10,5,128,100] (with specific parameters; it seems a good idea to not specify IP in a template)
    • ssh (on standard port)
    • ssh,2222 (if ssh is on non standard port 2222)

    Hope this helps

I have a test environment on a centos 5.4 32bit. I need to to add a couple of items to monitor the status of certian ports on our routers. I have a problem getting SSH to work. I am getting "Support of SSH parameters was not compiled in" message.

I installed libssh2 but I am still getting the message. Do i have to recompile zabbix?

        thx alot

Is icmpping running on the zabbix server side?
I have the same problem, i've installed the fping tool on zabbix server, and zabbix always reporting that icmpping[] not support.

            anyone can help me?
            thx

              fping

Zabbix uses fping on the server for icmp ping checks. You could check the permissions and location of fping, probably one of either is your problem.

Check the zabbix log (/var/log/zabbix-server/zabbix-server.log) for details.

I've checked "/tmp/zabbix_server.log", and the problem is not about fping's permission(I've already set the right permission for fping as manual mentioned), it just reported: "Item [IDC-Beijing:icmpping[] error: Not supported by Zabbix Agent"

Wrong parameter usage? I don't get any infomation from zabbix official doc.

                What should i do now?

BTW, sorry for my poor english

You should specify "Simple check" instead of "Zabbix Agent" as item Type.
