monitoring proxy on 1.8

Hello,

How can I monitor if zabbix-proxy is connected to zabbix-server?
On 1.6.x I was using: zabbix[proxy,"name-of-proxy",lastaccess] item (found in this forum), but after upgrade it does not work (in latest data I see last change on the day of upgrade)

Can anybody help me, please?

it should work - this looks like some problem with zabbix server or proxy. make sure they both have been updated, that latest version of both is running, that server and frontend refer to the same database...

Yes, both (sever and proxy) are updated, and everything other works. I can monitor all services in internal networks, I can monitor services on proxy machine via agent, but I cannot check when proxy goes down. And BTW I use 4 proxies, and situation is the same for all of them.

what do you see as the last seen value in administration -> dm for that proxy ?

in "last seen" everything OK - time in seconds.

ok, and the last value for that item shows exactly what ?
can you doublecheck proxy name matches proxy itself and in the item config ? lastaccess item is working just fine here...

it shows "05 Jan 2010 11:36:02 1262687762" - the time when server was updated.
proxy name is correct, everything else works.

hmm. no idea what could be wrong. maybe report this on the tracker so that the issue is not lost, thanks
