1.8 vs postgres 8.4 - cpu load disaster

    Hi,

my database have 60 write hits to the database per second. When I tried to watch the screen my 4CPU Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.33GHz goes crazy and load on the machine is 16. In most cases I event hit the 60s refresh site then get the results.

    Is postgres so poor database?

    Best regards.

PostgreSQL is a very nice database. I suspect that it may happen due to inefficient configuration and/or issues in Zabbix itself. You may consider trying the latest nightly build of Zabbix pre-1.8.1 to see if the new version helps.
