    Distant monitoring without proxy

    Hello,
I want to monitor computers via the web and I can not understand how to do without using a proxy just with zabbix agent on a windowsXP machine?

    can you help me?

    thank you

ps: My project is to monitor the computer park of several different customers located in geographically dispersed locations (multiple routers).
I want to use zabbix agent alone, rather than the solution nodes.

if the network works ok between zabbix server and monitored devices, you just do it the same way as you would for local servers, you just have to decide what protocols you want to monitor and figure out whether you will have any firewall issues

if agent can connect to the server, use active items. if server can connect to the agent, use passive items. if neither can connect to the other one - quite obviously, you have to figure something out (nat, port forwarding, tunneling...)

yes, but in zabbix configuration, how the server know the host ?

if i create a host with just the same name than in zabbix-agent, without ip or dns, server know the host ?

          (excuse for my bad english)

if you use passive checks, you must configure ip.
if you use active checks, yes, matching hostname in agentd config file and zabbix frontend will work (provided agent can connect to the server)
