    Ack to stop alerts

I've tried looking for this in the forums and documentation, but have had no luck. We currently have our triggers set to generate alerts on Normal + Multiple TRUE events. That means we get emailed every time our checks run every 30-60 seconds. When I ACK the event, it seems to actually put the event into ACK, but the moment the next check comes along, the ACK is killed and we get alerted again.

What can I do to make sure that we get notified of events until someone ACKs, and that ACK stays active until the event clears?

any reason why you are using multiple true events ? maybe you can achieve the same end result with escalations ?
if yes, this should be trivial. just set operation to repeat, and add a condition to it 'event not acknowledged'.

make sure to add trigger value = problem _before_ enabling escalations

So then set it to "Normal", and in the action, under Action Operations, set:

      Step:
      From 1
      To 0
      Period 0
      Send Message
Condition: Event Acknowledged = Not Ack

      Correct?

pretty much, yes. note that this will use global escalation period instead of item polling interval.
i'll remind again to add trigger value = problem condition for action itself when enabling escalations

That was the ticket! Thanks! How about another quickie, related to this. How would I setup an email to be sent out when an alert IS acknowledged? Just want it sent once...

Try to create a new step with this condition: Event acknowledged = "Ack".
