    Flexible intervals does not work

    Hi,

I created to test a new items wher I add a flexible intervals for such parameters:
    item: vfs.file.exists[/tmp/foo]
Flexible intervals: update 30 sec at 1-7,16:00-16:30.
At 16:35 I deleted the file and zabbix changed the status from 1 to 0
Why zabbix change status at 16:35 if I set flexible intervals to 16:00-16:35?
What's wrong, I something set wrong?

flexible interval overwrites period for the time interval you chose - in this case, 30 minutes. then item polling returns to the default interval.

if there is a way in zabbix to disable checking an item in some period of time
for example from monday to wednesday from 16-20. So the last update is at 15:59 and next one is at 20:01
At time 16-20 it should show status of file as it was before 16, and update new one after 20

i believe flexible intervals will help with that. try adding a new period with start time when you want to stop the checks, and length of the said period.
of course, your triggers must be aware of that, especially ones that use nodata() function

Though flexible intervals addition to Items check was useful,
it still seems a little inflexible we have to worry about Triggers definition on top of that Item.

The Item -> Trigger data flow should be transparent even in those 'no data' periods, meaning,
the Trigger understands we intentionally choose not to collect data in a specific period and thus won't get ON during it.

When creating a flexible interval it should be given a checkbox option of the like 'disable metric collection for this period'

Like I've suggested in another thread, having a frequency of 0 could be made to mean "no check". Maybe it's harder to implement than it appears.

Myself, we have a service that is on only during production hours (7:30 to 17:15). I never had success to disable the trigger outside these time frames.
