    Zabbix 1.8 VHD or VMDK

Although I know my way around Windows well I am a true Linux novice. I have attempted to install Zabbix recently with little success, on SLES and openSUSE. The documentation is aimed at those who know their way around Linux but unfortunately I do not and struggled with the server prerequisites alone - I couldn't even manage an install using the 1-Click Install!

I have therefore reverted to an old version (1.4) in a VMware image (VMDK) from rPath. However, I would very much like to start with the latest version. Can anyone point me to where I can find a 1.8.x version in either VHD (Hyper-V) or VMDK (VMware), preferably a VHD on SELS for Hyper-V support?

Failing this, is anyone prepared to offer their consultancy services to create one for me?

    Many thanks.

you failed to install zabbix on suse even when using prepackaged version ? that shouldn't happen, unless you tried to install latest opensuse package on some older sles release.

if you instead try to set up from source and fail, just ask specific questions on this forum. you can also search around for existing solutions, like http://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13788

Yes, unfortunately I did. I'll check out the link you sent and of course try again - I'm not defeated that easily! Thanks.
