history table cleanup

Also how can I make sure that the cleanup job that is deleting from history table is working ? Can I force it to run ?

it's called 'housekeeper', and it runs every n hours (as configured in server config file).
you can check server logfile for entries like :

Executing housekeeper
Deleted 2633 records from history and trends
