Getting logging into zabbix from snmptraps

Hi,

I have an external device (EMC San), that generates snmptraps.
I would like to get them into a zabbix item, type log.
Currently I use snmptrap.sh and zabbix_sender to do this.
That works fine, except with zabbix_sender, there is no way of getting
local time, source and severity into the zabbix database.

Has anyone found another way of getting logging info into zabbix ?

as far as i know, those parameters are only supported for windows eventlog
