    Max Y values using items

    Hello all,

I want to create a memory usage graph, using specific Y values:
    - min: 0
    - max: total memory

The problem is that the total memory is depending of the server and I want to create this graph in a template. That's why I used an item as max Y values: "Template_Linux:Total memory"

Perfect! It should be great. The problem is that the max values isn't printed... It is like if I choose "Calculed"...

    You can see it here:

It is possible to fix the Y maximum using an item, which is static ?

    Thanks in advance,
    Samuel.

Have you tried using a host macro?

          I've got the same problem.
It worked fine in 1.8, but not in 1.8.1

i doubt it worked in 1.8, but should work in 1.8.2.
you would have to relink the template or edit the upstream graph, though.

                Ok, I upgraded to 1.8.2

If I try to link the Y axis MAX value to an item (in this case SNMP IF-MIB::ifSpeed), it returns an error: Incorrect item for Ymax value

The Item value returned is an Integer, Decimal

Graphs previously created with linked items have the option set to "Item", but no item selected.

if graph refers to items from template, you should be able to select reference item from that template only
