    Monitoring many filesystems

We make extensive use of LVM on linux and aix servers. We have many filesystems across servers, with names such as /ora2, /ora4, /tsm2, /orafs, /bb, /orasan, etc etc.

There is no naming standard... each server could be different. I'd like to not have to create items/triggers for each filesystem on each server. Since there is no naming standard, creating one big template and only enabling needed items/triggers on each server would also be tedious.

Is there a way for Zabbix to monitor ALL local filesystems? And trigger when any file system usage is over a certain threshold?

    Hi,

I don't think that you can do it with standard Zabbix agent parameters.

You may use an UserParameter with a shell script that will use 'df' command and return maximum value of 'Use%'. It will not tell you which filesystem is filling up but, at least, you'll be warned.

Join the friendly and open Zabbix community on our forums and social media platforms.

this is doing exactly that, and also improving the per-mountpoint watch, as the "max %" will not allow usefull display of historical data...
