    1.8.1 usability

I have used Zabbix for several years now and have installed, recompiled, upgraded, etc many of them without any issues. Yesterday I did a brand new 1.8.1 install under Centos 5.4 and had no issues at all during the installation, but I cannot get the most common things to work.

The map labels dont work, no matter what I use the IP comes instead of the server label.
I see return values for drive read IO for example (dont remember the specific) but when I try to see the 1 h graph the graph is completely blank.
Last I cannot get a single alert to work.

Is 1.8.1 really stable or this is just something peculiar in this one install?

Also, what is the point on the releases, are those just time based? It seems a bit too many of them over the last few years.

    Regards,

    Paul

I'm using 1.8.1 on CentOS 5.4 and don't have any problems with it. The alerts are working fine. I've stopped using maps and have moved to the dashboard as it seems to be simpler to read and give a lot more information.

that might happen if timezone is different. try dragging the time slider to the rightmost position

since 1.6.2, alerts are only sent to users who have at least read access to those hosts.

It is weird, I have values, but when selecting the graph option it comes back saying Free disk space on c: [ no data ] for example.

Any ideas on what can cause this?

On the maps, If you go to maps and edit the one you have your icons there is a setting for Icon Label Type and there you can select to show Label, IP address, Element Name, etc. That was my issue as it was set for IP address instead of label.

To add more strangeness, the graph works for the Zabbix server but not for a Windows server even though there is actual data.

the image slider all the way to the right did the trick...
