Template - XML Import - Zabbix 1.8.[1|2] : doesnt work

Hi,

I've some realy trouble to import a template. After many tests, the most simple doesnt work :
1/ Export a template
2/ In zabbix GUI : rename the template (template_foobar => template_foobar_orig)
3/ Import the xml file

=> Zabbix thinking, thinking .... At the end : "Import sucessfull"

Well, in the configuration, there is the template but without anything ... no items ...

Any idea plz ?

ps :
- Debian Lenny amd64 with evry php-xml libs that exists
- Tested with Zabbix 1.8.1 and Zabbix pre-1.8.2 (09.03.10).

Well For information : if I delete the template into Zabbix, I can reimport cleanly.

So the procedure is :
- Export the template
- Delete the template in the gui
- Modify the XML
- Import the xml

They are aware of the issues with the imports/exports. I installed the nightly 1.8.2 build from Mar 7th and cannot even export a template... all items, graphs, triggers are empty.

I am with this problem 1.8.2 ... unable to export or import...

is there a patch ?

I believe you could fix it by grabbing the latest pre-1.8.3.x nightly build from here http://www.zabbix.com/developers.php and replace the frontend files only.

I tried to overwrite the frontend/php files as suggested, but the import from 1.6 doesn't work. I select the file but then nothing happens. It just returns to the import screen.

Any tips?
