event generation only after n consecutive failures

I have looked all over for reference to this but have found nothing.

I have a couple of services that I monitor that will pretty regularly fail a test and then come back on the next check. I would like to be able to configure the trigger so that n failures are required for event generation.

Any ideas?

We use this:

{host:icmpping. max( #4 ) }<1

to raise an alert only if ping fails 4 times.
You can check http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/...onfig/triggers for more details on trigger functions.

I looked at the docs for that and it still does not speak to me of what I was looking for. Perhaps and example on that page that describes it more plainly?
