that should be doable, with some notes.
1. discrete ipmi items are not currently supported;
2. some openipmi versions are known to have problems. from my experience, it's suggested to compile against libopenipmi >= 2.0.14
3. make sure zabbix server is compiled with ipmi support
4. set ipmi poller count to be at least 1
