Adding background Image

I appologise if this is in the manual but I seem unable to find it. Just need a little help on how I go about adding a backgroung image for a new map.

Should it be loaded into the images table like the icons?

I'm using beta 1.1 on Fedora Core 4

yep, imagetype is "2" for backgrounds.
