    1.6.4 upgrade to 1.8.2 - Detailed instructions

I have inherited a Zabbix 1.6 installation and have been tasked with upgrading to 1.82.

The documentation on upgrading is not very detailed.

This page mentions things like "Install new server binaries"

As someone unfamiliar with Linux this is not very helpful to me.

Does this mean the ./configure --with-proxy and make install part?

Is anyone aware of a more detailed or step by step document?

I have 6 proxies (at various sites) and one server to upgrade.

    Best regards,

Never mind, i managed to puzzle through it and learnt a lot in the process.

The database index drop on the history table took 2.5 hours (18GB database) and the script took over 16 hours to apply the database upgrade (MySQL Server Dual Xeon 2.8 with 4GB RAM and 6 disc 10kRPM RAID-10 array) but otherwise the upgrade went smootly.
