Auto registration win vs. linux

I'm testing auto registration in 1.8.2 and it's overly aggressive , it's registering windows systems too.

I can't seem to find a rule to check os type at auto registration time, the only tests seems to be for proxy and "host name like".

Any thoughts on how to put windows servers in one group linked to a win template but put linux servers in another group linked to a linux template?

do you mean active agent auto-registration or network discovery ?
if the first, just don't make agents on windows to contact zabbix server.
if the second, it really depends on what checks you are using. if it's against zabbix agent, you can match on contents of system.uname key.
