I'm currently setting up the latest Zabbix 1.8.2. We had some problems with earlier versions and would like to give it a new try.
We are monitoring 2 networks. I installed a zabbix server with agent on one network and the proxy on the second network. I have added the proxy on the server and the discovery seems to run fine. Any new host on the network that is monitored by the proxy is added to the server. Great functionality.
The only problem I have now is that neither the server nor the proxy can be monitored. Looking at the logs on the agent that is running on the server I always get the error:
1632:20100416:095521.750 Get active checks error: Cannot connect to [zabbix:10051] [Connection refused]
For some reason it can't connect to the server.
Is this correct to install the agent along with the server and the proxy?
