    Monitor Hp blade temp/status

I want to monitor and graph the temp and fan status of my HP blade servers and Bladecenter. What do I need to do to make this work? I see there is a template called HP InsightManager, can I use that and somekind of agent installed on my server or do I have to do a full HP SIM install? I would also like to monitor my C7000 bladecenter chassis, but I don't think that is currently possible as I was reading it reports much of its stuff via XML instead of SNMP.

    Hi,

Hardware information such as temperature or fan status should be available through IPMI.
You don't need to install any software, it is provided by ILO on HP hardware.

Zabbix documentation for IPMI is there :http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/1.8/manual/ipmi but it is not very detailed.

    Hope this helps

I originally was looking at IPMI, but from what I found it appears that HP ILO does not provide IPMI data, it is rather its own special ILO data, that's when I started looking at using the Insight Manager template, but I haven't been able to figure out how to make this work. I have looked at the Zabbix documentation for IPMI, but as you said there is not much there.

HP's ILO now supports IPMI over LAN with Firmware version 2.00
