Agent remote commands security

Hello.

I just started to knowing zabbix better and one, for me, important question came to my mind.

When I enable zabbix agentd remote commands and if someone spoofs ip of zabbix server, will zabbix agent execute that command or it is there some kind of protection against this?

If there isn't probably vpn is the best solution?
