Monitoring services bound to virtual/aliased IPs?

Hopefully this isn't too much of a 'noob' question, I'm new to Zabbix but haven't been able to find a solution in the docs or the forums.

I have various webservers that I want to monitor, however all of them have multiple IP aliases with Apache listening only on the aliases and not the main host IP. I could set up the Zabbix server to monitor these IPs separately, however the agent only allows for one hostname to be set, so connections to/from the aliased IPs are rejected.

Is there a way to setup the agent to monitor virtual interfaces directly? Or is there another simple solution to this issue that I'm unaware of (aside from changing my services to listen on the primary interface)?

    Thanks!

Zabbix agent items dealing with network services accept an IP as an optional parameter. For instance, if you want to check http service on IP alias 10.0.0.1 , you would use:
    net.tcp.port[10.0.0.1,80] or net.tcp.service[http,10.0.0.1]

You can check the manual for details : http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/...s#zabbix_agent
