Monitoring ports from an other server

    Hi.

For an example: I have two servers – Server 1 und Server 2. The first one has TCP port 25 active and the agent checks the local process. The agent on Server 2 should now check the port availability on Server 1 from outside.

Now I have one problem: How to get all the failures in relation to Server 1? When I configure an item with a trigger on Server 2 to monitor the TCP port on Server 1 and Server 1 is down, Zabbix shows me a problem on Server 1 AND Server 2. So, what to do to get only failure messages about Server 1.

Sorry for my English, I hope you will get me.

Unless Server 1 is not reachable from Zabbix server, it is much easier to use smtp simple check item for remote tests.
You'll find them in Zabbix documentation http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/...#simple_checks

Thanks for your answer, but this is not the required solution.

      A little bit more explanation:
Server 2 is a server from my customer. I would like to test, if Server 2 reaches Server 1 over the network on port 25. And if Server 2 doesn't reach the port, I would like to receive a message about an failure on Server 1 and not about problems on Server 2.
