I was able to get my Simple Check icmpping working (thanks Kerrygeek), but only if I use an IP address or valid DNS hostname.
I need to be able to ping using a DNS name for the Host, which it will do, if successful. Yet, I'm in the process of building out my NMS and some of the hosts I need to monitor may have changed/expired/or are using a DDNS client (approx 60 hosts).
But, if the Host's hostname cannot be resolved (or doesn't exist) the icmpping doesn't fail.
Is there another Item/Trigger that I should create to handle this situation?
