Strange Data Patterns on Switch Fiber Ports

Can anyone explain why I would be seeing this "strange" pattern on my fiber ports? Dell 5448 PowerConnect.

My first though it 32 bit unsigned integer rolling over.
Check your item types, are you storing it as is or as a delta (value per second). My hunch is you're storing it as is.
