    Zabbix Proxy Hardware

I will be setting up Zabbix soon and I had a question about what kind of hardware I will need to run a successful Zabbix Proxy. I am looking to monitor between 5-75 devices on average. I found this website selling low-cost fanless PCs and I figured I could get one to perform the proxy role.

These will be windows machines and I plan on getting event logs. Depending on WMI support I may or may not use agents.

Will one of those fanless systems run a proxy with no trouble?
Will I also be able to run squid?
Is there a particular distribution that will run best on a smaller system?

    Thanks in advance.

    hi,

We have about 15 proxies out there at our customers Site. All Intel Atom 1"6Ghz, 1GB RAM, MySQL. they perform REALLY well, little oversized.
No problems since near 2 years. We are rolling them out by image with little script. for me was Important to have complete intel-system. Even a mainboard-Change after 1 year had no problem. NIC also changed!

    Kind regards,

    Markus.
