    Xen virtual image

The zabbix-1.8.2.xen.tar.gz contains two files Zabbix_1.8.2_x86.i686-0.0.5.xenconfig and Zabbix_1.8.2_x86.i686-0.0.5.raw how do I import these into Xenserver 5.5.2? should it not be a .xva file?

I believe it's for the opensource xen distro that comes with opensuse and others. Not for Citrix Xenserver.
What i did is download the vmware appliance and convert it using xenconvert, which you can download from the citrix website. Then uninstall all vmware stuf using YAST.
Remember that there are no xentools for opensuse. Which is the underlying OS for the appliance.
What you can do, what i tried, is build your own appliance at http://susestudio.com/ and base it on SLES instead of opensuse. You will have to buy a license from Novell to update and maintain SLES.

the vmware drivers (ie. xentools for vmware). You don't have to uninstall them, but they will simply not be able to load.
When deinstalling the driver pack, there will be a few kernel modifications. Just click ok and continue.

BTW. after logging in ru "yast" (yet another setup tool), that is the opensuse management tool.

sounds like citrix has complicated things even further than they were with xen before... thanks for the info, added it at http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/.../appliance#xen
