    Cross Compiling

    Hello

Ive need to compile zabbix-agent 1.8 for openwrt2.4 running on a asus wl-hdd (currently version 1.3 in repository) and for openwrt2.6 running on a asus wl500g v2 ( version 1.6 in repository)

I cant seem to find any instructions for this. I guess i need to enter the write flags to ./configure --enable-agent as a base.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for documentation or if someone has done it, could they let me know how.

Im using an ubuntu machine to compile on. I cant compile on the boxes themselves as they have the space or power.

    Thanks

    Paul

      Hi,

I suspect that you don't get answers because nobody on this forum has done it.

Since Zabbix agent is just a C program, you may have more chances asking on a OpenWRT forum.

I suppose that you have already searched but since a simple "openwrt cross compile" search on Google returns more than 100.000 pages, I'm sure some of them could give you some hints.

      Regards,

        Hi

Yes I have asked the questions on openwrt forums as well. Im stuck on cross compiling on openwrt full stop. Have followed procedures but the arch specific gcc ld etc dont seem to be present where they should be.

        Thanks for the answer

I managed to setup the build enviroment and cross compile zabbix for the wl500gv2 under backfire 10.0.3. I was getting confused on where the various utilities were stored. IE gcc etc.

Im now having problems cross compiling for the wl-hdd under kamikaze. The build environment is built but Im getting errors when running ./configure. Im going to open a new post for this.
