    Monitoring hosts left on overnight

One of the groups we have on our installation is 'workstations'; this is used for our client's computers. I'd like to be able to report which computers have been left running overnight (say 2am - 4am) so that we can provide our clients with useful information that will enable them to save money but is obviously good for the environment too.

Is it possible to run a report like this or would we need to setup a trigger that alerts us during the night?

Apologies if this has been brought up before, I couldn't find anything similar in the forums.

    Well..

If all those hosts are expected to come back online at 4a.m.
a zabbix_sender / external script collecting the remote host uptime and Triggers with uptime> 22h would do...

I would think you could just use the discovery feature to get a list of which computers (by ip address) are up, run it during the night at whatever time you want to look for the computers. That's probably the simplest way to see what is up.

I hope that's what you're trying to do...
