Send Alert to Yahoo messenger

In our department most of operators login to yahoo messenger and as far as I know Yahoo messenger is popular IM.Unfortunately I have not found any option for send alert to yahoo messenger.
Is there any solution for this purpose ?

There are potential java clients which will do this, but any shell-level scripts have been broken for a long time. Yahoo and MSN broke that functionality on purpose.

I have been successful with a perl script sending to google talk, however.

you can try multiprotocol client like pidgin or miranda with some jabber account enabled...so you operators will have their original yahoo account and jabber account in one client. But clear solution with yahoo...viz. previous post.
