zabbix server is down

Hi

My zabbix server is down. i am not able to start the zabbix agent.
I checked the log file. There is this message in the /tmp/zabbix_server.log

when they try to start the zabbix server it shows this error
H ld.so.1: /usr/local/bin/zabbix_server: fatal: libmysqlclient.so.14: open failed: No such file or directory.

We tried manually starting the zabbix server process.
but immediately says one child process killed.
And then starts killing the server process.
please could someone guide me with this?
Note: I am using beta2 version

Are you starting the zabbix server as root or as a user? If you're starting zabbix under a user account, is it in it's path?

I suppose a better question is, has this ever worked? If it has, what's changed? Have you added something or updated anything? Perhaps updated zabbix itself?

This looks to me like a mysql error in general, and not related to zabbix. Are you sure mysql works?

That error means that zabbix server cannot find the mysql libraries.

Where is your mysql installed if it is not in the standard library path directories?

In my setup, mysql is in /usr/local/site/mysql so in the start of the zabbix_server startup script, I added:

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/site/mysql/lib/msql

and all is good.

First of all a Great thanks to all of you for posting the solutions
My Sql is installed in this path:

/opt/csw

we started the Mysql database, and the server agent is also.
the server process is gettign killed automatically
when checked the log details this is the error :

Now the we are able to server zabbix_server agent and We started the mysql daemon. But still in the console it is showing as zabbix server was down. and the last updated data is on 01/12/05. Please help me with this

can somebody help me with this....why is the child process getting killed automatically.

I believe there was a problem in 1.1beta2 which caused crash of ZABBIX server under some conditions. I wouldn't suggest upgrading to 1.1beta3 or 1.1beta4, please wait for 1.1beta5.

I wrote a script that checks the zabbix_server prozess. If the server prozess is down the script starts the server prozess. If version 1.1beta5 is more stable like 1.1beta3 and beta4 i change to this version.
